History Forte Residential began as an entity in 1992 to provide residential services to a single individual, the son of the founders. In 1995, Forte expanded to provide family driven community based day services for the same individual. The benefit of “control in the hands of the family” was evidenced through the program's success. In response to other families inquiries, the grass roots initiative began to expand. Forte now serves over 100 Indiana residents from Indianapolis north to the Michigan State line under the Developmental Disabilities, Support Services and Autism Waivers. Forte Residential is a licensed Personal Services Agency, providing services to recipients of the Aged and Disabled waiver. Forte seeks to elevate the family's role in the administration of active care.
